Kuchumov Vasiliy Nikitich (1888-1959).
Vasiliy Kuchumov worked in the field of history, interior and landscape painting and stage design. He studied at the Higher Art College affiliated with the Academy of Arts from 1910 to 1916, which he graduated from with Peter I Inspecting the Statue of Venus in the Summer Palace as his diploma work. For his sketch John the Baptist’s Head Is Brought to Salome he was awarded the Second-degree Prize of the Academy of Arts (1911). Kuchumov’s work was influenced by the World of Art artists. He participated in annual exhibitions of the Association of the Independent (1911-1914), the Triangle association of artists and psychologists (1908), and the A. Kuindzhi Society (1926-1929). The artist’s works are in the State Russian Museum, the Dnepropetrovsk Museum of Arts and in private collections.
