Sveshnikov Boris Petrovich

Painter, graphic artist, book artist. Representative of "unofficial art", best known for his "camp suite" (or "Gulag art"). He studied at the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1945-46). Since 1958 a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Sveshnikov's works are kept in the Museum of Russian Art in Jersey City and the Zimmerli Museum of Rutgers University (New Jersey, USA), as well as in the collection of the Memorial Society, the National Center for Contemporary Art and other collections.
