Kharlamov Aleksey Alekseevich

Kharlamov Aleksey Alekseevich (1840 – 1922).

Painter, portraitist, genre painter. At the age of 12, he began attending classes at the Imperial Academy of Arts. During his studies he was awarded small silver medals (1857.1862), large silver medals and a gold medal (1868). Since 1872 he was a member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions. In 1873 he was awarded a bronze medal at the World Exhibition in Vienna. In 1874 he was awarded the title of academician of painting. The most famous works: portraits of I.S. Turgenev, E.A. Tretyakova, paintings “Italian, “Female Head”, “Head of a Gypsy Boy”. Kharlamov's works are presented in museum collections in Russia (the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum), domestic and foreign private collections.
